The Bogor administration says that the LRT Greater Jakarta (Jabodebek) will significantly change the West Java city’s transportation culture, once it started running.
The LRT Jabodebek would make at least 30 percent of Commuter Line users and 40 percent of motorists in Bogor switch to the new transportation mode for efficiency, said Bogor Deputy Mayor Dedie A. Rachim.
He added that the LRT would be able to accommodate up to 120,000 passengers per day.
“Why 40 percent? It’s because the Jakarta administration would apply electronic road pricing by 2020, meaning that people from Bogor would have to pay the toll twice,” Dedie explained the estimate on Sunday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that the Bogor administration planned to build tramway tracks to connect several areas in the city, such as Tugu Kujang and Taman Kopi, to the LRT station in Baranangsiang. The Bogor Outer Ring Road being developed would also be connected to the Jagorawi toll road that connects Bogor and Jakarta. (das)
